We believe that affordable fertility treatment should be available to all Australians!

Wanting to grow your family is perfectly natural and having difficulty conceiving is more common than you may think. For 1 in 6 Australian couples, it’s not always easy to fall pregnant. Sometimes a little help is needed. Our team is committed to delivering affordable, quality fertility services to all Australians.

For many Australians, the cost of non-bulk billed fertility treatment is a major barrier. With many couples requiring more than one treatment cycle to achieve pregnancy, the costs can accumulate adding financial strain to an already emotional and stressful time.

What’s Covered?

Bulk Billing is a payment option available to Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents covered by Medicare. A range of health services listed in the Medicare Benefits Schedule are covered including IVF related services.

At Primary IVF, we Bulk Bill all Medicare eligible expenses such as GP Consultations, Blood Tests, Fertility Tests, Radiology Scans, Fertility Specialists, Nurse Consultations, Egg/Oocyte & Sperm Collection, Cycle Fees, Embryo Transfer and Pregnancy Tests.

What’s Not Covered?

Rest assured that we Bulk Bill all qualifying expenses when possible. However there a few necessary expenses that aren’t covered by Medicare. These include Day Surgery fees for oocyte collection along with some medications that are not fully covered.

As well, Couple Counselling, Police Checks and Child Protection Orders are required in some states and not covered by Medicare. Typical out of pocket expenses vary and are usually in the range of $600 - $900.

Is This For You?

While many couples have reasonable expectations and hopes of a successful pregnancy, 1 In 6 Australian couples experience difficulty falling pregnant.

Age is a major factor. Those in their 20’s have less difficulty falling pregnant than those in their 30s and 40s. Fertility issues increase with age (Leridon, 2014). Understandably, taking a wait and see approach is often not the best strategy. If you are under 35 and have been trying to conceive for 1 year or are over 35 and have been trying for 6 months then make an appointment to see if we can help.

Unfortunately, female age is one infertility factor we can do almost nothing to combat. Based on medical evidence Primary IVF does not provide IVF treatments to women over 44 years of age.
